- 02.05.03 don’t miss the harbour lights gig in lyttelton (chch) on friday may 9th. appearing are david kilgour & heavy 8’s / hiss explosion / palace @ 4am / heka / kahu. with such an ass kicking line up be sure that you don’t miss this event if you live in lyttelton or the flat city.
- 23.04.03 mike brasell has taken over running arclife from thomas bell who is spending more time in the studio recording as well as taking up a new position at radio 1 as in house engineer. mike has previously run his own label (noseflute records) during the 1990’s, where he released critically acclaimed cds from squirm, mjhex, centre will hold, fresh clean taste compilation. mike is also a current member of the hiss explosion.
- there’s a new dub and electronica label starting up under the arc umbrella this year (2003), a few names have been thrown around, last one i heard was “sparclife”.
- david muir has been compiling a data base for local musicians/artists etc that will be (once finished) an information index of various industry sources and contacts.
- lesley paris has been helping out arclife with her invaluable experience from working and running flying nun during the 90s, lesley is also hitting the skins for palace @ 4am.
- the tour north by brian crook and bible black / hiss explosion / palace @ 4am went very well with great turn outs in both main centres, lots of cd sales and enthusiam from the punters who attended either show.
- heka and kahu are undertaking a national tour in early may. the tour is to celebrate heka’s new cd as well as showcasing kahu who is tristan dingemanns (hdu) solo material. keep an eye out for dates in your local gig guide for this one.
- arclife have a new distributer with in music, originally “flying in” but dropped the flying bit after going solo. in music is run by simon woods and is based in auckland; he’s a big dunedin music supporter and we are very pleased to have him on board. arclife cds can be bought from “in” directly.
- there has been talk of a melbourne arclife showcase happening this year, its still in its infancy but do keep an eye out for upcoming dates etc.

- 05.02.02 news: sola monday’s swing festival release party is on friday march 8 at the temple gallery, moray place, dunedin, with guests martin phillipps, jay clarkson and louise kewene. further shows on tuesday feb 26 at canterbury university (with martin phillipps and the chills) and wed feb 27 at otago university (with golden horse).
- 30.01.02 news: tour dates for david kilgour as follows: 8th feb – dunedin – arc cafe, 15th feb – wellington – bodega, 16th feb – auckland – kings arms, possible christchurch date to be announced.
